When the rainwater leader fails, the garden hose is promoted!

I spotted a new plumbing innovation on BC Ferries…

And honestly, I’m impressed. 😅

The system consists of:

• A rainwater leader
• An oil funnel
• A garden hose
• Several zip ties

Installation method:
Zip ties + gravity.

Engineering review summary:

✔ Water goes into the funnel
✔ Water leaves the deck
✔ Problem solved (technically)

But as engineers we all know the rule:

There’s nothing more permanent than a temporary fix.

Still… I have to give credit for the creativity.

This might be the first zip-tie supported rainwater leader extension system I’ve ever seen in the wild.
