The impact of hiring an unlicensed and inexperience trade will not only cost you money, but possibly a criminal offence.
A famous and very successful restaurant in Vancouver had a contractor install a split A/C. The photo below is of the compressor hung outside the restaurant in the back alley.
-
Circled in red: temporary mechanical clamps typically used for strapping down material in a flat bed truck. This will rust and fail.
-
Webbing exposed to the elements, in particular UV rays will make the webbing become brittle and fail.
-
Left hand mechanical clamp on a fire escape ladder. Possibly hindering the escape of occupants in the event of a fire.
-
No seismic cabling to ensure condenser doesn’t fall during an earth quake.
There is a significant likelihood that this installation will fail and fall to the ground injuring or even killing someone. We are not lawyers here but if the event occurs this could be considered criminal negligence on behalf of the business owner.
As always please hire reputable trades and engineers to do your restaurant installations.
